Our feel for genuine wine of the Strekov region is in our blood. For several generations, we have been bringing our treasured experiences into our vineyards with love and humbleness, which you can savor in every glass of the Berta wine.
Lukáš is in charge of marketing. He and his brother Matúš make a fantastic team, which gives a distinct signature to every Berta wine.
Lukáš joined the winemaking line in his parents’ steps - After finishing the winemaking school in Modra and taking part in a one-year practice in the Sand Castle Winery in the USA, he studied at the Agricultural University in Nitra. He continues to enrich the Strekov tradition with skills he acquired all over the world – for example, in one of the best wineries of the world, New Zealand's Saint Clair Family Estate.
The youngest winemaker of the Berta family is in charge of processing the grapes and a year-round care of the wine, which begins with working in the vineyards and ends with selling the product to the customer, as well as presenting the wine on local or foreign festivals.
After graduating from a winemaking high school in Modra and the Agricultural University in Nitra, he gained years-worth of experiences in the family winery. Matúš is very successful in innovating the manufacturing process, which is especially appreciated by the customers.
Being the lady of the winery, she manages the day-to-day operation of the company with motherly care. She oversees everything from finances to selecting the highest quality grapes at the time of harvest.
She started the career of a professional winemaker at the winemaking school in Modra, continued to perfect her knowledge in grapevine breeding in Radošina and received a degree at the Agricultural University in Nitra. She is a true expert when it comes to grapes, as she was managing the distribution of grapes for years not only for Moravia, but also for selected Slovakian wine companies.

He got a taste of the winemakers’ craft when he was just a boy in Strekov. And so, he went to study at the winemaking school in Modra, and after that in Lednice, Moravia. Later, he was helping the process of finalizing the first Slovak new grape breeds: Dunaj and Devín.
Tibor, who was born in Strekov, is a man we can truly rely on.
He knows each and every plant in the vineyards, and that’s where you can find him all year round. He is a perfectionist, a trait that blends well with the company philosophy.

Sir George Fistonich is the founder of the iconic Villa Maria winery, which, in 2001, was the first to introduce the “Cork-Free Zone” - meaning that all their wines use screwcap. The reason for this was simple - to get rid of the fears concerning the insufficient quality of cork stoppers. As he says, 8 “corked bottles” out of 100 was too big a number to just overlook.

The story of our new logo and labels for our wines began about a year ago. We chose Komplot Advertising based on the recommendations of our mutual friend Peter Kučerka. Since the very first meeting with the Komplot Advertising team we were sure that they are the right people for the job. We believed they will come up with something extraordinary and timeless.
And we were right. :-)
